Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a message from a young family who needed to rehome their cat Jessie. It
happens often enough that the cat is well loved and happy in their home until a baby is brought
into the picture. It changes everything. Routine and attention time to the cat are different and
cats be cats, like to know what is happening next and like their regular pets and cuddle time.
“Our daughter just turned one and is getting faster and stronger and loves grabbing the cat,
Jess does not like it, so it’ll only get worse for her.” This pretty kitty wasn’t adapting well and
was very stressed by the baby’s cry, which can sound like another animal in distress, and little
‘me time’ with the mom and dad. “She doesn’t get nearly as much attention as she used to.
We don’t want to give her up, but we just don’t see it getting any better and want her to have a
happy home”. It was with a heavy heart that they decided that another home, quieter and more
devoted to her, would be the best idea.

Personality:

Jessie is generally a fairly quiet cat who is affectionate once she gets used to someone. Then
she will rub up against your legs and climb up onto your chest to be held like a baby. She
loves to curl up next to you to be pet. Jessie spends a lot of time lounging in a dresser drawer,
primarily the sock drawer, when wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of the home but
likes to hang out on the bed or the couch as well. Watching from the window sill to see the
activities outside and passively playing with toys are past times, occasionally chasing a little
stuffed toy or ball around, but more than those she seems to love hair elastics. She can be
very routine by meowing in the morning to get fed, and then again around dinner time. She is
sweet and gentle and looking for a quiet and adoring home. Jessie is ready to be adopted
into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
