Rescue:

An email came through to Pet Patrol from a woman who lives in a small town up north. She
has been helping people rehome their cats and rescuing those off the street for many years,
and her connection to Pet Patrol has been very successful for a lot of cats. A woman from that
community needed to rehome her much loved cat Mango unfortunately as this pretty kitty was
no longer happy in her home. When first adopted into this house Mango was a kitten and had
a buddy puppy. The owners felt if they were adopted together when small then they would
adjust to each other and be best buddies. Initially, when the dog was the same size as
Mango, that plan worked, however things have changed since the pup is now a full grown dog.
He is a Blue Healer and their instinct is to herd animals – the only other animal in the house
was Mango. It was innocent at first, but then became bothersome for this much smaller cat
and Mango took to hiding. She was now being harassed constantly and was not coming
downstairs to interact with her family anymore and the owners want a better life for her. Soon
she came into Pet Patrol care and has done very well

Personality:

Mango is a lovely cat who has easily made herself at home and is comfortable in the sanctuary with the other cats. Although she has lived with a dog before, we need to be careful of
what breed and temperament she is paired with so she does not become frightened again.
But a home without a pup would be preferred. Mango is very affectionate and people oriented
and she loves to be pet and brushed. She is easy to pick up and will make good company for
someone wanting a kitty to love and be loved by. Although we did not get any information
about this pretty girl’s preferences for toys, activities and her routine, we can see by her outgoing nature that she will fit into her new home well. Mango is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
