Rescue:
A hand written note came along with Tilly when she arrived at Pet Patrol’s sanctuary. “Thank
you for taking me in. My name is Matilda – Tilly for short. I came to my human friend’s house
quite wild and very pregnant. They were gentle and kind to me and I decided I could trust them
enough to let them pet me after several weeks of their patient attempts. I came inside the
house and had a litter of babies in their front hallway on September 11th. I was an excellent
mother. I had five little ones and they are all happily settled into their forever homes now. My
human friends were planning on having me spayed as soon as I had stopped nursing, they
even had a home lined up for me, but my belly started to grow again. My new home couldn’t
take me in my current predicament.” It is presumed that Tilly migrated from a neighboring
barn as she was very good with other pets. Once in Pet Patrol care, and examined by a vet, it
was found that Tilly was not pregnant and was soon spayed.
Personality:
Tilly is a quiet little cat who enjoys being pet and cuddled. She will come to you for attention
and rub up against your legs. She was shy, initially, when she came to the sanctuary, although
she had her own little apartment (two story cage) and a great view of the playroom and outdoors.
It did not take her long to show how friendly and playful she is and she wanted to be
with people. Quite a nice little cat. We have enjoyed her company here and she has enjoyed
exploring and meeting new people. She is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One
that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
