Niah & Nemo

Niah & Nemo

Niah & Nemo

Rescue:

Nola was found at a construction site in a big city. There are a lot of big trucks, heavy equipment
and rough and raw materials there. Although quiet at night and somewhat protected if
there is a fence around the job site, it is still considered uninhabitable. One man working there,
who has cats of his own, realized what a difficult environment it is for a small animal to survive
in . Then he discovered Nola she was living under the bucket of an out of commission back
hoe. Then he realized she had kittens. Some of the little ones were rescued and the workers
took them home for themselves, but others could not be rescued right away. Finally, one of the
kittens was brought to Pet Patrol, and a few days later Nola came in with the remaining baby.
Initially they were quite frightened of their new surroundings and being so close to people, but
they have adjusted nicely in their foster home. We called the babies Nemo and Niah. All have
thrived in our care.

Personality:

Nemo and Niah are a bonded brother and sister. Nemo follows Niah around when exploring
and they cry for each other when they are too far apart. Niah is very curious, adventurous, and
affectionate. She is not shy about letting you know when she needs something – whether it’s
more food, a new place to explore, or attention. She will get up close to investigate new things
or to see what you’re doing and is quick to purr when getting pets. She loves to jump and will
leap distances that seem unimaginable for such a little creature. Nemo is a very timid guy but
is slowly coming out of his shell. He does not like the idea of being picked up and will try to
avoid it if given the chance however, once he’s cuddled up, he will fall asleep in your arms.
The way to Nemo’s heart is through play (and treats!). He is very playful and will cautiously
approach when he sees you pull out a toy. Both kittens love their cat tree and spend a lot of
time climbing, scratching, wrestling and sleeping on it.
