Rescue:
A woman had been calling around to different rescues in her area, trying to find a place for a
pretty cat in her backyard. This is Melba’s story: Apparently this pretty Torti had been crying at
her door for a few months. She wasn’t able to bring it into her house (as much as she loves
cats) because her husband was highly allergic. She immediately she began feeding her and
developed a routine in the morning and in the evening, but where she slept overnight; they
never did figure that out. She appeared to be clean and dry when she came into the sanctuary
so she must have found a corner somewhere inside a shed, or the neighbours dilapidated
pool house possibly. Because Melba would only come within a few feet of the woman, she
was rescued by using a humane trap, and on the drive to the sanctuary she was asking a lot of
questions (mewing). Upon arrival she was easy to pet and pushed her head into our hands
with love and affection. At this time she was hugely pregnant and she had her kittens within seven days.
Personality:
Mister is all boy, fearless, goofy, playful and who zooms in on wands toys to chase and jump
at. He needs to be adopted into a home with a buddy or sibling to help him burn off energy
and to cuddle with. He was the first of the litter to climb the scratching posts and take over the
top perch as well as investigate his surroundings. Watching the birds outside has been exciting
for him. He likes to have a small carpet for himself, just to scratch on. As an affectionate
boy he enjoys attention, cuddles and pets. He is a dear little cat. Mister is ready to be adopted
into his forever home with a playmate or sibling. One that will welcome him into the family and
keep him safely indoors.
