Rescue:

Skylar was first noticed tearing into a bag of garbage in a field near a trailer park. There
was a small frozen stream near her and she was not paying any attention to what was going
on around her, she was so hungry. A man had been out walking his dog along a trail and
saw her as he drove by. Being very concerned for her wellbeing he pulled over and called
his wife who was a volunteer for Pet Patrol and she immediately got in her car and went
down to rescue this poor cat. Armed with canned cat food and a pet carrier she approached
Skyler who by now was meowing quite a bit and holding her feet up, she was
asking for help and she was terribly cold. With a lot of coaxing and the canned food this
pretty calico headed into the cat carrier with some kind words and treats. It took about four
attempts for her to stay in the carrier and allow the volunteer to shut the door. From there
she came into Pet Patrol and was visibly happy at the warmth and comfort she received

Personality:

It appears that Skylar had not spend much time outside as her coat was good and she still
had good weight on her, she definitely was an indoor cat. We searched the Lost Pet sites
and notified everyone in the area where she had been found, but no one came forward to
claim her. She does have an ear tattoo but that is an outdated form of identification for pets
now, as it usually is unreadable as the cat get older. We have not been able to trace an
owner with that information either. In the meantime, Skylar has settled into Pet Patrol care,
shown us that she is sweet, loving, appreciative, friendly and adorable. She is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
