Rescue:
Mickey and Maggie and their siblings were part of two litters born to two mother cats who
had been coming and going from a country property for a few years. The couple had
brought teen aged cats to Pet Patrol a while back and since then have increased their shelter
for the migrating cats, making sure they were out of the weather and in a safe environment.
On their property they have a storage shed that they were not using for any other
purpose, and inside is a heat lamp for colder weather, and daily food and fresh water. In
the spring time the woman noticed the cats were very pregnant and not wanting them to
have the kittens in the shed, they were secured and moved into the workshop. In total there
were eleven kittens born this spring, between the two moms, and once weaned the woman
was able to find homes for five of them. Mickey and Maggie were born March 30th and are
now ready for adoption.
Personality:
Mickey is such a cute girl, and is very interactive with the other kittens in the litter. She has
not been as forth coming to her people, but she does appreciate all they do for her. She tends
to stay back and watch the other kittens vying for attention, but she does like a nice massage
and ear rub. Perhaps she is not the competitive type and won’t butt in for the love. She does
come close for treats & a brief pet. At this point, she does not want to be picked up or
held, but that will all come with time. Mickey needs one to one attention, and the guidance
of her sister Maggie. They are quite the team when it comes to games of Tag and Hide &
Seek, and she will follow her lead when it comes to exploring new territory. Mickey is ready
to be adopted into her forever home with a playmate. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors.
