Rescue:
Lorcan & Liam were two of four kittens who suddenly appeared in a small village about ten minutes
outside the city, along a quiet dirt road with only a handful of homes. Two of the kittens were taken
in by neighbours, while Lorcan & Liam began spending their days playing around the yard and
patio of a retired couple. Their property sat in a gully overlooking a river, with a significant drop from
the deck toward the water and plenty of wildlife sharing the surrounding area. Although the summer
days were warm, the evenings were becoming cool, and the kittens even endured a terrible
thunderstorm outdoors. The couple wanted to get them to safety but weren’t quite sure how to go
about catching them, so a Pet Patrol volunteer stepped in to help. One kitten was gently picked up
and placed into a carrier, while a humane trap was set for the other, who walked in almost
immediately. With both brothers safely secured, Lorcan & Liam were soon on their way to Pet
Patrol and a much safer life indoors.
Personality:
Lorcan & Liam are friendly, gentle boys best adopted together. Lorcan is still warming up to his
foster family, but he’s gaining confidence everyday. He likes to let Liam take the lead and observes
how his brother interacts before joining in himself. Liam is already fully on board with being
everywhere the people are! His insatiable love of cuddles means he’s often squished between his
person and his brother. This duo are never far from each other! And that includes during play time.
They’re big fans of batting springs around, climbing the cat tree, and playing tag. Sweet, observant,
and increasingly comfortable with family life, Lorcan & Liam are ready to be adopted into their
forever home—one that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely indoors.
