Rescue:
O’Malley’s story began with an observant truck driver whose job had led him to rescue many cats
over the years. Whenever he found an abandoned or injured cat while making deliveries, he would
bring them to a woman who operated a small cat rescue. One evening, while driving along a quiet
country highway, his headlights caught a flash of orange sitting directly on the yellow centre line. As
he got closer, he realized it was two tiny orange kittens huddled together in the middle of the road.
Barely four weeks old, O’Malley and his brother were terrified, their eyes sealed shut with infection,
leaving them unable to see the danger surrounding them. The driver quickly scooped them up and
placed them safely in a cardboard box inside his truck before continuing to the rescue. There were
no nearby houses, barns, or signs of where the kittens had come from—only open fields stretching
in every direction. He returned the following day to search for their mother or any other kittens, but
found nothing. Thanks to his quick actions, O’Malley and his brother were given a second chance at
life and the opportunity to grow up safe, healthy, and loved.
Personality:
O’Malley—or “O’Meowie,” as his foster mama affectionately calls him—is an absolute ball of energy
and nonstop fun! This little Energizer Bunny seems to have two speeds: full throttle play and
completely passed out. He purrs constantly, plays just as much, and absolutely must know what his
people are doing so he can be involved too. O’Malley is often found wrestling with his foster
siblings, surveying the outdoor world from the safety of his catio, or finally crashing for a serious
kitten nap curled up beside you, on your chest, or tucked under your neck. As cuddly as he is
energetic, he really is the best of both worlds. O’Malley would love a playful feline friend who can
match his energy, keep him entertained, and perhaps help keep some of that kitten mischief in
check! O’Malley is ready to be adopted into his forever home—one that will welcome him into the
family and keep him safely indoors.
