Rescue:
The D family’s story began on a peaceful hobby farm with rolling fields, horses, fruit trees, and a
long laneway tucked away from the road. She had made the farm her home after arriving from a
neighbouring property, where she was known to be an incredibly friendly cat. When she gave birth
to her kittens in the barn, the family wanted to make sure they all had the opportunity for safe,
loving indoor lives. They reached out to Pet Patrol, and Desi and her little family were welcomed
into our care. As if raising her own kittens wasn’t enough, Desi also opened her heart to an
orphaned kitten named Muffin, lovingly accepting him as one of her own and giving him the comfort
and care every baby deserves.
Personality:
DeeDee is an agile little adventurer who believes the best view is always from up high! She is an
impressive climber and loves finding new places to perch, explore, and watch everything
happening around her. DeeDee has plenty of fun chasing her brothers, but she’s also quite
independent and is perfectly happy entertaining herself with her favourite ballandtrack toy or
batting springs around. When she decides it’s time for attention—or a meal—she’ll let you know
with the tiniest, sweetest little whiny mew. She’s on a schedule that her humans are expected to
keep! DeeDee may be cautious when first meeting someone, but she warms up quickly and enjoys
affection once she feels comfortable. She is still gaining confidence with being held while her
people are standing, despite her love of heights, and just needs a little patience as she figures it
out. DeeDee especially enjoys the comfort and companionship of Rakita, an older female cat in her
foster home, and would likely love having a gentle older feline friend to look up to in her new family.
DeeDee is ready to be adopted into her forever home—one that will welcome her into the family
and keep her safely indoors.
