Rescue:
August wandered onto a country property outside of a small town, where the people living there
quickly realized this handsome boy was struggling. He was suffering from a severe upper
respiratory infection, with watery eyes, significant discharge from his nose, and his little tongue
sticking out as he tried to cope. Knowing he needed medical attention quickly, they reached out to
Pet Patrol for help. Because the property was quite a distance from the sanctuary, arrangements
were made for August to be taken directly to a veterinary clinic closer to where he had been found
so there would be no delay in starting treatment. Thankfully, he responded beautifully to medication
and recovered without complications. In the meantime, the family kept August safely sheltered in
their garage, where he was protected from the elements and cared for until transportation could be
arranged. Less than a week later, he arrived at the Pet Patrol sanctuary, healthy and ready for the
next chapter of his life. What began as a sick cat wandering onto a country property turned into
August finally having the safety, care, and security he needed.
Personality:
August is one of those wonderfully easygoing cats who seems to take everything life brings his way
in stride. Sweet, affectionate, and incredibly gentle, he loves being picked up and carried and is
perfectly content spending his time around people. August adjusted beautifully to sanctuary life,
comfortably welcoming the variety of volunteers who come and go as well as the many cats sharing
his space. He isn’t particularly shy, but he isn’t bold or bossy either—he simply has a calm, friendly
nature that makes him a pleasure to be around. With his adaptable personality and love of human
companionship, August is the kind of cat who seems as though he would settle naturally into family
life and make himself right at home. August is ready to be adopted into his forever home—one that
will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
