Haven

Rescue:

Pet Patrol became aware of a cat living in a difficult part of the city near the expressway,
surrounded by industry, shopping centres, retirement homes, and lower income housing. A support
worker had been speaking with one of her clients about a small white and black cat they often
noticed peeking out from a wooded area near the building. They explained that she had been
surviving there since the beginning of winter, searching for food and shelter through one of the
longest and coldest winters in recent memory. Thankfully, someone had placed an insulated cat
house nearby to help her survive the bitter weather. When asked where the cat had come from, a
neighbour shockingly revealed they had witnessed her being thrown from a secondfloor balcony
months earlier. Pet Patrol quickly stepped in to help. Haven was easy to secure, happily coming
when called and allowing herself to be picked up and cuddled. By the time she arrived in care, she
was exhausted from life outdoors and suffering from a cold and eye infection, but finally safe and
warm.

Personality:

Haven is a gentle, loving girl whose sweet nature shines through in everything she does. Despite
the hardships she endured surviving outdoors through the winter, she has never lost her trust in
people or her desire for affection. Haven actively seeks out attention, happily cuddling up with her
favourite humans and soaking up every pet she can get. She is easy to pick up and carry, loves
being close to her people, and has all the qualities of a wonderful lap cat. As she continues to
recover and settle into indoor life, more of her charming personality emerges each day, and it’s
impossible not to fall in love with her. Soft, affectionate, and incredibly grateful for love, Haven is a
truly special girl. Haven is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her
into the family and keep her safely indoors.
