Rescue:
Iris came to Pet Patrol after her owner found herself facing a difficult life transition. She was moving
to a new city, temporarily living with a cousin, and working hard to establish herself with a stable job
and housing. Although her hope was to be reunited with Iris once she secured an apartment,
circumstances ultimately made that impossible, and she made the heartbreaking decision to
relinquish her beloved cat into Pet Patrol’s care. It was clear that this decision was not made lightly
and that she wanted Iris to have a safe place to stay while she worked toward a better future. While
the reunion never happened, Iris has settled into sanctuary life and is now searching for a forever
home where she can once again become a cherished companion.
Personality:
Iris is a lovely girl with a sweet and affectionate nature once she feels comfortable with the people
around her. She enjoys attention and is happy to greet visitors, soaking up pets and affection on
her own terms. While she may occasionally roll over and show her belly, Iris prefers chin scratches
over belly rubs and isn’t shy about setting boundaries when she’s had enough attention. She isn’t
much of a lap cat, yet, but she loves curling up beside her people on the bed and simply being
close to them. Iris can be sensitive to new situations so she would likely thrive in a quieter home
where she can feel safe and secure. Although she spends much of her day relaxing, her playful
side comes out in the evenings to explore and play. Gentle, independent, and affectionate, Iris is a
wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a cat with both personality and charm. Iris is
ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her
safely indoors.
