ADOPTION PROFILE

Ledger

Ledger

Ledger

Rescue:

Ledger had become a familiar face on a residential street near a large university—supported by two
households who regularly fed local strays. Originally a kitten too small to compete, he was chased
away from food bowls by older, tougher cats. But as he grew, so did his confidence, and eventually,
he was the one keeping others at bay. At first, neighbours thought he was owned, but by winter, it
was clear he was on his own. He was spotted out late each night, even through freezing
temperatures, and when he was finally found in the spring, the tips of his ears still bore signs of
frostbite. For several nights, his soft cries could be heard echoing in the dark. Finally, a plan to
leave food in a dog crate brought him close—but it was a happy accident with a live trap that
brought him to safety. One wrong button press, one right moment—and Ledger stepped in, as if he
knew he was finally going home. Thanks to that moment, this gentle tomcat has left the streets
behind and is now safe, loved, and ready for a new beginning.

Personality:

Ledger arrived at the sanctuary feeling shut down and afraid, unsure of the world around him. But
with time, patience, and the gentle care of our volunteers, he has blossomed into a big orange
teddy bear. Now, Ledger will happily come over to greet you when you’re sitting on the floor, leaning
in for love and attention. One of his sweetest traits is how he rolls over to show you his belly, a true
sign of trust and comfort. Ledger gets along beautifully with the other cats and is often found
snuggled up with one or two of his friends. Because of this, he would thrive in a home where he can
be adopted with a feline companion. With a little patience and time to settle in, Ledger (and his
buddy Bojangles) will become incredibly loving and loyal companions.
