Rescue:
Pet Patrol was alerted to a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what
one family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the
farmhouse, barn, drive shed, chicken coop, and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for
over the years. As time went on, it became clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had
become impossible, and by the time help arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 19 kittens living
throughout the property. While the buildings themselves were a little worn and cluttered, the cats
had managed to create cozy little shelters for themselves amongst the farm equipment, stacked
furniture, boxes, and warm straw scattered through the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken
coop helped keep many of them warm, and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy,
friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around
their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs,
and hidden corners before slowly venturing out to investigate. They were safely brought into Pet
Patrol’s care, where they could begin their next chapter in loving foster homes.
Personality:
Mallow is full of life, love, and personality. This sweet boy is always ready to greet you when you
enter the room and is quick to ask for attention and affection. As soon as you sit down, Mallow is
happy to make himself comfortable on your lap and soak up all the love he can get. He is also a
playful, outgoing kitten who is often the first to jump in when a toy starts moving, and his excitement
quickly gets all of his friends joining in too. He especially loves string toys, wand toys, and anything
that lets him chase, pounce, and play. Handraised around children and used to being handled
often, Mallow is a wellsocialized, affectionate boy with a big heart. Raised with many other kittens,
he is used to companionship and would likely enjoy another feline friend in his forever home.
Mallow would like to be adopted into a home that will keep him safely indoors.
