Rescue:
Risha came from a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what one
family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the farmhouse,
barn, drive shed, chicken coop, and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for over the
years. As time went on, it became clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had become
impossible, and by the time help arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 27 kittens living throughout
the property. While the buildings themselves were a little worn and cluttered, the cats had managed
to create cozy shelters amongst farm equipment, stacked furniture, boxes, and warm straw tucked
throughout the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken coop helped keep many of them warm,
and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy, friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers
were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly
from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs, and hidden corners before slowly venturing
out to investigate. Risha was one of the lucky cats brought safely into Pet Patrol’s care, where she
could begin the next chapter of her life in a loving foster home.
Personality:
Risha is a beautiful girl who has fully embraced the indoor lifestyle. No more barns for her—she
much prefers a cozy couch or warm bed for her afternoon naps. This laidback kitty loves attention
and enjoys plenty of pets and affection. She’s still discovering the fun of toys, but she has already
learned that cat trees are perfect for climbing and exploring. One of Risha’s favorite pastimes is
sitting by the window, safely indoors, and watching the world go by. Risha would make a wonderful
addition to any family. She gets along well with other cats and would thrive in a loving home where
she can relax, be pampered, and enjoy the comforts of indoor living.
