Rescue:
Lainey’s mama, Larissa, was first seen last fall visiting one of Pet Patrol’s volunteer feeding stations
set up for stray cats passing through the area. At first, Larissa was very nervous and would only
take a few bites before running away. She disappeared for a time and wasn’t seen again until
winter, when she returned and began meowing to the volunteer, though she was still too shy to
come close. Gradually, she started visiting more often, and it soon became clear she was pregnant.
The volunteer spent time talking gently to her and slowly earning her trust. Larissa began exploring
the insulated outdoor shelters, likely searching for a safe place to have her kittens. When the
volunteer finally reached out to pet her, Larissa gave a small hiss but did not run. It was clear she
remembered the kindness of people, and once she felt that touch again she allowed herself to be
carefully placed in a carrier and brought indoors so she could be safe and warm. Larissa spent
nearly two weeks settling into foster care before finally giving birth to four kittens, including little
Lainey, safely inside the comfort of her foster home where they could grow up warm, loved, and
protected.
Personality:
Lainey is the only kitten in her litter who inherited her mama’s looks, and she truly is her tiny twin in
both beauty and personality. Full of confidence, spunk, and sweetness, Lainey is always ready for
her next adventure, especially if springs, feather wands, tunnels, or chasing her siblings are
involved. She absolutely loves zooming around the house burning off kitten energy before curling
up for cuddles afterward. Despite her playful side, Lainey is also incredibly affectionate and full of
snuggles. She adores curling up with her sister Lorelai and happily seeks out affection from her
humans, especially if she can tuck herself right under your neck for maximum coziness. With her
playful charm and loving personality, Lainey would be thrilled to be adopted alongside Lorelai or
join a family looking for a funloving kitten companion. Lainey is ready to be adopted into her
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
