Rescue:
Sometimes life changes, and despite the best intentions, people are no longer able to care for their
pets. That was the case for Vander. He was adopted as a cuddly kitten and settled easily into his
home alongside a resident cat, living happily and without issue. Over time, however, changes in his
owner’s health made it clear that they could no longer provide the care Vander needed. Having
originally come from Pet Patrol, Vander was welcomed back with open arms. His return is a
testament to the love and responsibility shown by everyone involved, ensuring that his life
continues to be filled with kindness, stability, and the opportunity for a bright future.
Personality:
Vander, who also answers to his nickname of Buddy, is a very friendly and people oriented boy who
enjoys being close to his humans throughout the day. If you’re in the kitchen cooking, he’ll be right
by your side, curiously observing and keeping you company. He likes to climb onto furniture to
perch and watch what’s going on around him, always interested in being part of the action. Vander
is quite vocal and expressive, happily letting you know how he feels—or if he’s been picked up in a
way he doesn’t quite prefer. He especially loves neck scratches and leans right into affection when
you find the perfect spot. Vander is also a very tidy gentleman, keeping his eating area neat and
using his litter box without making a mess. With his affectionate nature and desire to stay near his
people, Vander makes a loyal and engaging companion. Vander is ready to be adopted into his
forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
