Emmy

Rescue:

Pet Patrol was contacted by a woman who was concerned about a pretty little brown tabby with warm orange highlights who appeared to have been abandoned. She rents a home on a cattle farm, set back from a quiet road by a long lane with barns and outbuildings along the way. One evening, she noticed a car stop briefly at the end of the lane before driving away. Shortly after, a small tabby came trotting up the driveway, crying and looking for help. The kitten—later named Emmy—sat on the deck meowing for attention and clearly seeking comfort. The next morning, food was offered, and Emmy remained close, eventually seeking shelter in one of the outbuildings. It quickly became clear that Emmy was a very friendly cat who had been an indoor pet and had no desire to be outside. With a dog and resident cat in the home reacting poorly, Emmy wasn’t feeling safe or welcome. Wanting the best for her, the woman reached out to Pet Patrol so Emmy could find the safety and stability she deserved.

Personality:

Emmy is a very friendly, social girl who quickly made herself at home in the sanctuary. She enjoys being near her people, coming and going throughout the day to check in, soak up attention, and settle into cozy spots. Emmy loves window watching and is always curious about passing activity, but her favorite place is right beside you—curled up in a lap or enjoying quiet companionship. She’s easy to pick up, enjoys being held, and thrives on gentle affection. Emmy would do best as the only cat in her home, where she can enjoy all the attention and feel completely secure as the center of someone’s world. Emmy is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
