Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who needed help rehoming her family member’s remaining
cats, and the situation was heartbreaking. The family member struggled with addiction and the
home had become severely cluttered, unsafe, and in need of major repair. Over the years boarders
had come and gone, some even staying in the garage, and many of them brought cats with them.
When they moved out, they left their cats behind. Most were eventually rehomed, but Dafina and
her two kittens were still there when the call for help was made. By this time, the basement had
flooded with sewage and the house was not liveable. When Dafina and her babies arrived at Pet
Patrol they were understandably nervous, unsure of what this sudden change meant and what our
intentions were. But with gentle voices, soft hands, and patient reassurance, they quickly realized
they were safe. It didn’t take more than a few pets and cuddles for them to settle in, feeling secure,
comforted, and ready for a fresh start.
Personality:
Dumpling and Dottie are a sweet, bonded pair of female kittens who need to be adopted together.
Dumpling is an orange tabby with a very bold, affectionate personality; she is the first to explore
and will jump right into your lap for snuggles. Her sister, Dottie, is a beautiful tortoiseshell who is a
little shyer and prefers to stay close behind Dumpling. Despite their different approaches, they are
extremely playful and both love getting attention. They are completely inseparable and always
sleep curled up together.
