Rescue:
Cherish and her kittens were discovered living in dire conditions in Mount Forest. A kindhearted
mother and daughter, who regularly feed local strays, noticed the small family emerging from a hole
in the foundation of a rental property that backed onto a busy parking lot. For weeks, Cherish had
been raising her three kittens—Chet, Chelsea, and Chesca—in the damp, moldy crawl space
beneath the building, exposed to harsh weather, noise, and constant danger. When they reached
out for help, it took over 50 hours of patient trapping to safely bring the whole family to rescue.
Cherish was underweight, with ribs showing and bite wounds on either side of her torso but with
proper care, food, and love, they began to heal. Cherish, although protective, showed signs of trust
early on—eating from a hand even when freshly trapped. Over time, her kittens went from fearful
and hiding to playful, affectionate little purr machines. With their bellies full, their fur soft, and their
spirits lifted, Cherish and her babies are now thriving and ready for the next chapter of their journey:
finding loving forever homes.
Personality:
Chet is a brave, curious, and playful kitten who’s always the first to try something new, whether it’s
a toy, a window perch, or a belly rub. He sprawls out on his back and purrs the moment he sees a
hand reaching toward him. Bold and loving, Chet is a joyful little explorer who brings happiness
wherever he goes. Chet is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him
into the family and keep him safely indoors.
