Rescue:

There was a colony of cats found behind a manufacturing building in town. The colony had been
cared for by the staff, who fed them daily and even provided insulated cat houses for them. The
nice thing was that they were all friendly, but the sad thing was the colony was growing. A company
memo was sent out, saying that they had consulted with the city shelter who said to stop feeding
the cats. That is sad and wrong. Rescuing them is the answer. Coyotes were also running through
the area often and sometimes within 10 feet of nearby humans. They definitely caused many of the
cats to disappear. The colony cats names all start with the letter K, and this includes Kandie. Pet
Patrol volunteers and the woman who was feeding the cats braved the elements daily to
ensure this colony was looked after and brought into care.

Personality:

Kandie is a small kitten with a big personality. Playful, curious, and full of charm, she fills the house
with laughter and fun as she chases toys, rolls on the floor, and zooms from room to room. She
loves to be around her people. Whether you’re doing dishes or folding laundry, Kandie is just
inches away, quietly observing your every move with bright, attentive eyes. While she enjoys
meeting new people (especially those who come bearing toys), she likes to take things at her own
pace. Kandie was initially unsure of other cats and would hiss or hide, but over time she’s learned
to coexist peacefully and even enjoys the occasional game of chase with calmer feline friends.
Kandie would thrive in a home that understands her quirky, independent spirit. She’d be happiest
as a solo pet or with another gentle, laidback
cat who gives her space. Lots of toys, scratching
posts, and quality time with her humans are a must for this sweet, playful girl. Kandie is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
