Hopper

Rescue:

A woman who lives in a very small village not too far from the sanctuary sometimes finds stray cats at her back door. One day, she noticed a handsome orange and white boy, and along with him was a very pregnant cat with four teens (Hank, Hampton, Hopper, and Harrison) in tow. They were coming out of the cornfield, seeking food and shelter they were looking for anything that might help them survive. As the woman put food and fresh water down for them, they ate ravenously. She immediately noticed how thin they were. The female cat was not showing her friendly side at the time, but the others quickly came forward for pets and purrs when their bellies were full. Because of encounters with strays in the past, the woman has a home made for cats in the window well that looks into her husbands shop, equipped with a heat lamp and dry bedding. Once the family of kitties settled in, they came into our care and have thrived ever since.

Personality:

Hopper has transformed from a timid little guy into a curious and playful sweetheart. Every toy is a new adventure to him – he’s always the first to investigate and play, especially if there’s something mysterious to chase or pounce on. He loves hanging out with his cat friends, curling up in cozy sun spots, and observing the world around him with wide eyed wonder. While still a bit cautious with people, Hopper enjoys gentle pets from volunteers and is learning every day that affection feels pretty great. He doesn’t seek out constant attention, but once he trusts you, he’ll happily accept your love and may even come back for more. Hopper gains so much confidence from other cats and would thrive in a home with a playful feline friend who can continue to show him how wonderful indoor life can be. Hopper is ready to be adopted into his forever home – one that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
