Rescue:

A couple who were about to leave on holidays noticed this tall, long and very thin boy walking
through their backyard. They had lived there a while and had never seen him before.
When they called out to him he stopped, crouched down and took off like a Rocket. Immediately
they put food out and he eventually returned to gobble it down. He was so thin and
they were very concerned for him. They weren’t sure how they could help this boy while
they were gone, but luckily their in-laws pitched in. Coming twice daily to the backyard they
put out food and water for Rocket. By the time the couple returned he was showing what a
lovely and affectionate boy he is. It was easy after that to bring him into safely. Surprisingly
he was already neutered and declawed, but no microchip. No original owner has been
found

Personality:

Rocket is an awesome cat. He is gentle and sweet, chatty and well behaved. He greets
everyone who comes to the sanctuary, eager for a pet and a cuddle. He is a big boy, but
easy to pick up and cuddle. He is more than happy to jump up onto your lap and settle in,
and we are sure he will be good company at bedtime too. Rocket is pretty laid back. He
has been introduced to a few cats and done well, not sure how he would do with a dog. He
is playful as well, and likes interactive toys with his people. It is sad to think that he had a
home, and it was all taken away from him. Did he get out and lost, left behind or purposely
abandoned. We may never know as our research has come up empty. Rocket is ready to
be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors
