Rescue:
Kazoo and his siblings first came to Pet Patrol’s attention when one of our volunteers received a
message from a neighbour in her community. Kittens had been spotted at a local feed mill, and the
woman believed there were four of them coming out in search of food. Unfortunately, she was
leaving for her cottage and wasn’t able to stay and help, so our volunteer contacted the feed mill
directly. The staff had no idea the kittens were living on the property but happily gave us permission
to come out and rescue them. Armed with humane traps and carriers, volunteers headed to the mill,
where a couple of workers mentioned seeing the kittens hiding beneath the dumpster and storage
containers. The traps were set, and before long two little kittens were safely inside. They were
reset, and much to everyone’s surprise, three more appeared—there weren’t four kittens after all,
but five! Kazoo and his siblings, Koopa, Kalypso, Kestrel, and Kova, were all safely rescued. No
more hiding beneath dumpsters or searching a feed mill for their next meal—Kazoo is now safe in
Pet Patrol’s care and will have the chance to know the comfort and security of a loving indoor
home.
Personality:
Kazoo was made to play and to love! This sweet little prince is quick to purr and absolutely melts
for chin scratches and gentle face rubs. He was frightened when he first came into care, but his
confidence has grown tremendously and he now runs to greet his people, eagerly asking for
affection. He is still getting comfortable with being held and sitting on laps, but is making wonderful
progress. Once he has soaked up enough love, Kazoo is ready to play! Wand toys are irresistible—
even a sound asleep Kazoo will spring into action when one appears. He is often the one to start a
game with the other kittens and loves zooming, pouncing, and wrestling with his buddies. Feline
companionship is very important to Kazoo, and he should be adopted with one of his siblings,
Kestrel or Koopa, or his friend Acorn. Kazoo is ready to be adopted into his forever home—one that
will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
