Rescue:
Lavender’s journey began in the backyard of a family who had noticed a cat wandering through
their property during the spring. They didn’t think much of it until one day, while taking the
lawnmower out of the shed, they heard tiny squeaks coming from inside. Tucked safely away was a
litter of kittens. It quickly became clear that the mysterious cat was their mother, and the family
immediately began putting out food and fresh water for them. As the kittens grew, they turned the
entire backyard into their own playground, with the trampoline becoming their favourite place to
bounce, chase, and wrestle together. The family also patiently worked on socializing the kittens.
Eventually, they set up a dog crate with food inside to capture the litter and their devoted mother.
Thanks to the family’s kindness and determination, Lavender is now safe in Pet Patrol’s care.
Personality:
Despite everything she has been through, Lavender has learned that people can be trusted and is
quite comfortable with gentle human attention. She remains wobbly, but her imbalance certainly
doesn’t stop her from enjoying life! Lavender always wants to be part of the action, happily
pouncing and hopping onto toys even when she occasionally loses her balance along the way. She
enjoys wand and string toys that she can follow, grab, and snatch from the safety of the floor.
Lavender prefers affection when she has solid footing beneath her and can be cuddled if held
securely, and she loves being gently stroked while she relaxes. She can be effected by loud noises
and quick movements, so a quiet, predictable home without young children or other animals would
allow her to feel most secure. She has not shown an interest in jumping or climbing and is happiest
keeping all four paws close to the ground. Despite this, Lavender is curious and eager to explore—
she is one of the first of her siblings to venture out of their room to see what lies beyond. With
patience, a calm environment, and people who appreciate her exactly as she is, this resilient little
girl will have every opportunity to thrive. Lavender is ready to be adopted into her forever home—
one that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
