Rescue:
Candy and her siblings were born on a property just outside of a large city, where they lived
outdoors among a collection of brokendown cars with their Dad cat and two older siblings from a
previous litter. While their mother and two other female cats were allowed to live inside the house,
unfortunately that same comfort and safety was not extended to Candy, her siblings, or the other
male cats on the property. Life outdoors was difficult, and there was not always enough food to go
around. Candy and her siblings often went to sleep with hungry bellies and learned to compete and
fight with one another at mealtimes, never knowing when their next full meal might come.
Thankfully, help arrived and the kittens were safely trapped and brought into care, while their father
and older siblings found placements with other rescues. With regular meals, warm beds, and the
security of indoor life, Candy is quickly learning that food will always be there and there is no longer
any need to compete for it. Most importantly, she will never be forced to live outdoors again.
Personality:
Candy may be the tiniest of her litter, but this precious girl has no trouble keeping up with her bigger
siblings. True to her name, she is incredibly sweet and loves human attention, always happy to
settle in for a good cuddle. Candy has a dainty little side too—she takes her time enjoying her
meals, carefully grooms herself, and loves perching on the couch or stretching out for a sunbath.
But don’t let her princess ways fool you! She can hold her own during a wrestling match and
happily gives her siblings a run for their money when playtime begins. Candy clearly finds comfort
in having other cats nearby and would be happiest adopted with one of her siblings or into a home
with another friendly kitty companion. Sweet, affectionate, and playful, Candy is ready to be
adopted into her forever home—one that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
