Rescue:
Latte, and Lyanna were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where unowned
cats had been left to multiply in unsafe conditions. The property owner rented out two neighbouring
houses while using the buildings and sheds to store years’ worth of belongings, creating an
environment where cats could easily hide and continue having litter after litter of kittens. One tenant
became so concerned about the conditions that she reached out to Pet Patrol for help after having
to cover the doorway leading to an overcrowded storage room attached to her living space.
Volunteers initially rescued eight kittens from the property, but just weeks later another eight kittens
were discovered in a shed behind the neighbouring house, showing how quickly the population had
grown. Latte, and Lyanna were among the kittens saved from this difficult beginning.
Although they missed out on early socialization, they are now safe in foster care, where they are
learning to trust people and discovering that life can be filled with kindness, comfort, and love. Their
difficult start is behind them, and they are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives with families
who will cherish them forever.
Personality:
Lyanna arrived as a very scared and timid kitten, but with patience, reassurance, and plenty of love,
she has blossomed into a lovely little girl. Beneath her gorgeous tabby colouring is a playful
personality that is really beginning to shine! Once she feels safe, Lyanna is absolutely full of beans,
racing around the house and joyfully instigating playtime with the other kittens. She has come such
a long way but would still appreciate a family who will shower her with love and attention and
continue reassuring her that she is safe and adored. She shares a special connection with her
foster sister Emmer and would love nothing more than to be adopted alongside her so they can
continue playing, growing, and building confidence together. Lyanna is ready to be adopted into her
forever home—one that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
