Rescue:

Emma, Elliott, and Ernie were given a second chance thanks to a compassionate woman who
contacted Pet Patrol for advice after discovering several barn kittens she hoped to find homes for.
We shared information on safely screening adopters and explained the importance of ensuring the
kittens were healthy and grown enough before being separated from their mother. When she sent
photos, it became clear that some of the kittens were only about five weeks old—far too young to
leave their mom. At the time, the kittens were living in a chicken coop inside the barn, but when one
developed a severe eye infection and another with a badly swollen leg, she brought them into her
home. They were shortly welcomed into Pet Patrol’s care thereafter. Throughout their recovery,
Emma and the other kittens leaned on one another for comfort, forming incredibly close bonds.
Now, they’re thriving and ready for the future.

Personality:

Emma is a sweet, affectionate girl who has always wanted love, even if she wasn’t quite sure how
to ask for it at first. She arrived curious but guarded and easily startled by new or loud noises, but
with patience she has become much more confident and warms up to new people faster all the
time. Once Emma feels comfortable, her loving personality shines—if you’re relaxing, she’ll happily
join you for pets and belly rubs, and she may even squeeze her way to the front if another cat is
getting attention! She has a playful side too and especially loves wand toys and springs, followed
by a nap at the very top of the cat tree. Emma is gentle with children, including younger ones, does
well with other cats, and could also be happy as the only feline in a home where she receives
plenty of playtime and affection. She is becoming increasingly comfortable being picked up and is
even a champ for nail trims. Emma is ready to be adopted into her forever home—one that will
welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
