Kailani & Petey

Kailani & Petey

Kailani & Petey

Rescue:

Pet Patrol received a message from a caseworker helping a client rehome several cats. Although
the cats were gently handled by children, accustomed to other cats, and raised in a busy
neighbourhood, there were simply too many. The group included momma Kailani and her teenage
kittens. To prevent further litters, the feline family had been responsibly separated from an
unneutered male cat. While this was thoughtful, it left them without the interaction and enrichment
of integrating into a full household. Once in Pet Patrol’s care, the cats quickly showed how sweet,
gentle, and eager for human interaction they were. Meanwhile, at a farm south of the sanctuary
where cats had been reproducing for years, a young vet tech had been assisting in rescuing nearly
the entire colony over the span of several months. When the elderly owner sold the farm, only two
cats remained, including Petey. Shy and unsure at first, his time in foster care has already opened
his heart to human affection.

Personality:

Some friendships are unexpected, and Kailani and Petey are the perfect example. This adorable
duo has formed a beautiful bond, and they are looking for a forever home where they can stay
together. Petey is a 3yearold boy with a gentle heart. Naturally very nervous, he has blossomed
thanks to the confidence and reassurance of his best friend, Kailani. At just 1 year old, Kailani is
rarely far from her favorite people, and Petey happily follows her lead, finding comfort in both her
and the humans she trusts. When they’re not wrestling, chasing springs and balls, or zooming
around together, you’ll find them curled up on the couch, grooming each other or sharing a cozy
cuddle. While both can be shy at first and need time to realize they’re safe, they become
wonderfully loving with the people they trust. Neither enjoys being held, but they’re more than
happy to snuggle up beside you for a quiet evening. Kailani and Petey are ready for a forever home
willing to give them a little patience, a lot of love, and a life of indoor luxury.
