My Teeth Are Bad

Hi… my name is Gus. 🐾

A good, strong name for a tomcat who’s spent most of his life on the streets.

For years, I had a whole neighbourhood looking out for me. I always knew where to find food, warm shelter, fresh water… and plenty of girl cats to keep me company. I thought I had things figured out.

But after many years outside, someone finally managed to entice me into a humane trap and bring me to Pet Patrol. I wasn’t thrilled about it at first — freedom is hard to give up when it’s all you’ve ever known.

Then I went to the vet for my neuter surgery. The bright lights and all the people were pretty scary, but they were gentle. I fell asleep… and while I was under, they discovered something important.

My mouth is in really bad shape.

Several of my teeth are already missing, others are broken or badly decayed, and the vet says I need extensive dental surgery to remove the damaged ones and clean everything up. I’ve likely been living with this pain for a very long time.

Right now I’m on medication, which helps me eat and sleep better — but it’s only temporary until I can have the surgery.

I’m not the easiest boy yet. Life outside taught me to be tough. But I’m slowly softening, and maybe someday I’ll even learn to enjoy life indoors.

For now, I just need help getting out of pain.

If you can donate or share my story, you’ll be helping a street cat like me finally get the care he’s needed for a long time.

With quiet gratitude,
Gus 💙🐱
