Pretty

Rescue:

Pretty came from a farm colony where she had become something of a favourite. The husband,
who spent much of his time working in the barn, had taken a particular liking to her. One day, when
his wife went into the barn, she was surprised to discover there were actually twelve cats living
there—far more than she had realized. She preferred to keep the number of cats manageable and
ensure they were all spayed and neutered, but many of these cats had not been altered. With
spring approaching, she knew the situation could quickly become overwhelming with the arrival of
unwanted kittens. Concerned about the growing colony, she reached out for help. Some of the cats
were brought through Pet Patrol to be spayed and neutered, while a few, including Pretty, came into
our care to find safe and loving homes.

Personality:

Pretty is a loving family cat with a heart of gold and an uncanny ability to sense when her people
need a little extra comfort. If someone is feeling anxious or stressed, she seems to know and will
make a point of staying close. She checks in with her people throughout the day, loves curling up
on a lap for TV time (her favourite show is Brooklyn NineNine!), and happily sleeps in bed at night,
but she is also independent enough to entertain herself with a spring toy before disappearing under
the bed for a wellearned nap. Her absolute favourite toy is her purple doll slipper! Pretty also has
plenty of adorable quirks, including her signature bellyrub request: a long, slow lunge with one
back leg stretched out before dramatically flopping onto her side, followed by a fullbody stretch and
lots of purring once the tummy scratches begin. She also has a hilarious little “whisper meow,”
enthusiastically telling stories in the tiniest voice, responds to her name, and even invents games
like chase and hideandseek with her feline friends. Pretty prefers having other cats around for
companionship, although she can be selective about who earns a spot in her social circle.
Affectionate, funny, intuitive, and wonderfully balanced, Pretty is ready to be adopted into her
forever home—one that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
