Rescue:
Paulo and Tipper’s story goes back many years to the early days of cat rescue in our area. At a
time when there were very few organizations supporting homeless cats, a dedicated couple opened
their home and fostered countless cats for one of the first local rescues. Even into retirement, they
continued to care for cats in need. Recently, Pet Patrol received a call from a family member asking
for help. The wife had passed away, and the husband, now facing significant health challenges,
could no longer live independently in his home. As the family worked to pack up belongings,
prepare the home, and find placements for the remaining cats, they were able to rehome some,
while others needed additional support. Paulo and Tipper were among the cats welcomed into Pet
Patrol’s care, giving them the opportunity to begin a new chapter in a safe and loving environment.
Personality:
Tipper is the definition of a love bug. All he wants is to be around people and soak up as much
affection as possible. He’s often the first to greet volunteers when they arrive, eagerly waiting for his
next round of pets and snuggles. This big boy is incredibly calm, gentle, and wellmannered, and he
doesn’t seem bothered by the other cats around him—his focus is always on human
companionship. Tipper is perfectly happy to be picked up and held, and he will even stand up on
his back legs to ask for attention. He’s also learning to enjoy playtime and likes batting at wand
toys, though cuddles are still his favourite activity. With his sweet nature and loving personality,
Tipper is a big softy who simply wants a home where he can receive the attention and affection he
adores. Tipper is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the
family and keep him safely indoors.
