Kace

Kace

Kace

Rescue:

There was a colony of cats found behind a manufacturing building in town. The colony had been cared for by the staff, who fed them daily and even provided insulated cat houses for them. The nice thing was that they were all friendly, but the sad thing was the colony was growing. A company memo was sent out, saying that they had consulted with the city shelter who said to stop feeding the cats. That is sad and wrong. Rescuing them is the answer. Coyotes were also running through the area often and sometimes within 10 feet of nearby humans. They definitely caused many of the cats to disappear. The colony cats names all start with the letter K, and this includes Kace. Pet Patrol volunteers and the woman who was feeding the cats were braved the elements daily to ensure this colony was looked after and brought into care.

Personality:

Kace has quite the personality and has come a long way since his difficult start to life. Cats from his background can be either very fearful or very social, and Kace arrived somewhere in between. He quickly learned to appreciate the comforts of indoor living—warm beds, fresh water, and reliable meals—and he is always one of the first to line up when treats are offered. With time and patience, Kace has begun to trust people, thanks to volunteers who never gave up on him. He now leans into pets when he’s ready, showing just how much he’s grown. One of the sweetest things about Kace is how he recognizes other cats from his past, greeting them as if to say they are finally safe. He would thrive in a quiet, patient home, especially one with other cats to help him feel comfortable and continue building confidence. Kace is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
