Rescue:
Pogi first came into Pet Patrol’s care as a timid kitten, but he quickly blossomed in his foster home, becoming outgoing and people oriented. He was soon adopted by a kind and educated woman who adored cats. She gave him a wonderful home and loved him dearly. Unfortunately, life changed unexpectedly. Demanding work hours and ongoing health challenges meant his adopter was frequently in and out of the hospital. Although family members stepped in to care for Pogi, he often spent long days and nights alone in the apartment. It wasn’t the life she had hoped for him, and with deep sadness, she made the decision to return him to Pet Patrol. Pogi was adopted again not long after. While things started off well, over time he became increasingly intolerant of the family’s older, fragile cat. After many attempts to help them coexist peacefully, it became clear that Pogi would do best in a home where he could be the only cat. Now back in our care, Pogi is as affectionate and playful as ever. He is a wonderful companion who thrives with human attention and is ready to find a home where he can be the centre of someone’s world.
Personality:
Pogi is affectionate, polite, and just the right amount of silly! He is a jazz loving gentleman put on some Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald, and he’ll be snoozing in minutes. He’s incredibly friendly and trusting, happily asking even brand new visitors for pets. A dedicated birdwatcher, he’ll often perch on your windowsill, chattering at birds like they’re his friends. He’s a tidy housemate who doesn’t knock over plants, eats well, and usually listens when told “no.” Pogi already knows how to sit and stand on command, loves learning tricks, and picks them up quickly! Once he’s comfortable, he’ll curl up at the edge of your bed or climb into your lap for a cozy nap.
