Rescue:
Shade’s journey to safety began in the rural village, just ten minutes from the sanctuary.
Surrounded by farms and cottage country, this area is home to many stray and abandoned cats
searching for food and shelter. When natural food sources became scarce, Shade, like many
others, migrate toward local feeding stations, hoping for a meal. Like most wary strays, Shade was
never aggressive, just cautious and unsure of people. He quietly lingered near food stations and
during the brutal winter months took refuge in heated cat houses in one woman’s back yard,
surviving through the last year and regaining his health. As time passed, rescuers noticed his gentle
nature and knew he deserved a better, life than struggling daily outdoors. With patience and care,
they successfully rescued him and brought him to Pet Patrol, where he could finally be safe.
Personality:
Shade is a softhearted,
quiet soul who loves being pet and coo’d to. At first, he may seem shy,
choosing cozy corners over center stage, but don’t let that fool you, this sweet boy absolutely
adores affection. Once he realizes you’re there to offer love, he leans right into gentle scritches,
especially behind the ears, purring with contentment. While being picked up isn’t his favorite, he
allows it with grace and patience. Shade thrives with calm, gentle people who take the time to earn
his trust. Sit quietly near him, and he’ll reward you by coming right over, asking for attention in his
own soft way. He gets along well with other cats, keeping the peace with his calm and nonconfrontational
nature. Treats are his weakness, he’ll do just about anything for a tasty bite! Shade
is looking for a peaceful home where he can continue to blossom at his own pace, surrounded by
quiet love and comfort. Shade is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome
him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
