Rescue:
Pet Patrol received several messages from the friends and family of an elderly woman who lives in
quite a nice neighborhood. The houses are big, and the lawns lush with professional landscaping.
Around the back of her house was a deck with a wooden swing and a mom and babies. The
woman had noticed that the kittens were starting to crawl out from underneath, their curiosity
getting the better of them. She wasn’t sure what to do. The deck needed to be removed and rebuilt,
but they didn’t dare because of the kittens. Upon inspection, we saw that the deck was degrading. It
was easy to pull up the boards, but they crumbled in our hands. Willow and Woody were rescued
the first day but after three or four days, only mom arrived to eat. It was time to rescue her and have
her join her little ones. It was almost six days before she went into the humane trap and we were
pleasantly surprised to find that she was quite affectionate and friendly. Whisper was reunited with
her babies and two orphan kittens as well. All thrived in our care.
Personality:
Whisper is a sweet, calm girl who loves nothing more than being close to her people. She’ll quietly
follow you around the house, checking in and listening intently—as if she’s about to join the
conversation. When you speak to her, her tail starts to vibrate like an excited little antenna, and she
happily walks over for attention. Whisper warms up quickly to calm households, new people, and
gentle pets. While she gets along with cats of all ages, she prefers relaxed feline companions who
are happy to curl up and nap by her side. Her favorite things in life are soft beds, slow cuddles, and
“making biscuits” on pillows and blankets. At night, she’ll tuck you into bed, and in the morning, she
patiently waits for everyone to wake before asking for her daily dose of love. She’s not a fan of
being picked up or handled roughly, but if you’re gentle, Whisper will happily soak up all the
affection you can offer. Whisper is looking for a peaceful forever home—one with cozy spaces, a
loving touch, and ideally a calm kitty friend to nap with. One that will welcome her into the family
and keep her safely indoors.
