Rescue:

A man and his wife live in a tiny house in a tiny village that just consists of a stop sign at their four
way stop and a church. There are houses close together and then just wide open farms fields.
When a stray cat shows up they tend to take refuge under someone’s deck or shed,
and in the case of Carmen, she had her kittens under the back porch. It was relatively dry, and blocked
from the wind, but it was not providing any sense of warmth especially from the cold and rain.
When Carmen was first noticed she appeared to be quite friendly and the man easily picked her up, but
then he felt her tummy, had a look and saw that she was nursing kittens. He was unable to reach
the nest where her babies were because the porch was low to the ground and they were at the
very back. So Carmen was provided with food and fresh water daily and she was pet and appreciated until her kittens were brought to the feeding station. Then they took their time counting the
little ones to make sure when they rescued them that no one was left behind. Carmen and her four little
kittens came into Pet Patrol care and soon after onto their foster home where they received lots
of love and attention.

Personality:

Carmen is a quiet cat who has adjusted well to living indoors, enjoying the benefits of fresh water,
lots of food and a climate controlled home. She can be a little nervous around new people but
likes pets so that helps her to adjust to visitors and enjoy the moment. Being picked up was a
new thing for her as well, but she is starting to relax with that as well as jumping up on laps and
meowing for some attention. Her favourite place to catch a catnap is on cozy blankets and
places where it’s warm. Toys have turned out to be pretty exciting and she loves to chase wand
toys, crinkle balls and even just a shoe lace dragged across the floor. Carmen is a sweet and
gentle cat who is ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the
family and keep her safely indoors
