Rescue:
One afternoon a long-term volunteer said that a friend of hers had been driving along a country
road, not very far off the main highway, and saw a little black kitten in the middle of the road.
She was shocked and pulled her car over quickly and actually stopped traffic so that she could
cross safely and rescue the baby. This was little Fiona and she was so tiny she fit in her hand.
The woman couldn’t believe her eyes and she quickly tucked the baby into her shirt to keep
her safe and close to her while she drove. She got her home and called her friend right away
to see if there was anyone to look after her. Since the rescuer had two large dogs at home she
wasn’t sure how they would take to the tiny kitten but more so she didn’t know how to properly
look after a wee one that was just four weeks old. Upon coming to Pet Patrol little Fiona was
put in with a mama cat whose kittens had just graduated from her at nine weeks of age. This
was Tilly. She was very happy to see the baby and the baby was very grateful to see a mama
to take care of her.
Personality:
Fiona is a sweet girl who is also quite active and playful with anything that moves: balls, string,
feet, foster sister Fawnie… When she’s not running around or exploring every nook and corner
she likes to cuddle up in a squishy round bed purring happily and drifting off into a deep sleep.
She is very content to be held and snuggled, will nap on your lap and will come back to be
picked up if she’s not done snuggling. She is adorable. she has met the resident cat and
family dog and is fine with them. Fiona had beat the odds and has thrived in our care and is
now ready to be adopted into her forever home where there is a playmate or her foster sister
Fawnie. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
