Rescue:
Pet Patrol works with other smaller cat rescue organizations, in order to help them with the
high volume of cats that they bring into their care. One day they were contacted by both the
concerned neighbour and the owner of the property, about the number of cats living there.
The property is very close to a lake and the woman explained that cats are abandoned
there every year, maybe by campers or cottage renters, or intentionally by people visiting
the area. The colony is getting larger now as she cannot afford to have them spayed or
neutered, especially with three or four litters born each season. Some kittens she found
homes for but the ones remaining on her back deck were now having to take up refuge in a
large dog crate. It is makeshift and the cats are very crowded inside, but that is the only
way they can create warmth to survive the cold and bitter winter weather. Pet Patrol has
taken in six of these cats, Resie being one of them, all friendly and affectionate, and we
hope to help with more.
Personality:
Resie is a sweet little cat who doesn’t mind being picked up and cuddled for a long period of
time. She is quite used to it. She likes her people, her siblings and her toys. It would be nice
for her to have a playmate in her new home as she likes to cuddle up with them and seeks
them out for attention. She has never been on her own before. Resie is very playful like
most kittens are, and will chase after crinkle balls, dangling strings, the laser pen light and
ping pong balls. A cardboard box is an adventure. Resie is ready to be adopted into her
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors
