Rescue:
A lady had messaged Pet Patrol and also left a phone message in regards to six kittens
living under her back deck. She was quite concerned for them and was having a very difficult time
trying to rescue them. She was trying to hand catch them which can be quite risky as the
kittens could be frightened and bite, and also the whole experience can be terrifying for
them. Using a carrier baited with stinky canned food the kittens went in eagerly to eat. The
door was gently closed behind them and they were safe. The neighbor next-door, being a
very elderly lady, offered her basement spare bedroom for the kittens to live in until other
plans could be made. At least now they were inside and safe. Three appeared to be quite
shy and three were fairly friendly. A Pet Patrol volunteer went over to rescue the kittens but
having a stranger in their room was concerning. Gently and slowly she was able to rescue
them and provide them with safe transportation to the sanctuary.
Personality:
Dodger is a very personable little cat who likes to be pet and have a good ear rub and back
massage. Like his siblings he started out shy, but he has gained his confidence with people
rapidly. He Is playful and fun loving, chasing down toys and the illusive red dot from the
laser pen light. He has discovered cardboard boxes with peep holes as a fun place to be
and watching the world from the window is just fine. The outdoor life is in his past and he is
quite happy about that. Dodger is good with other cats and it would be nice for him to have
a buddy in his new forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and keep him
safely indoors.
