Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a call from a woman who had been feeding a young cat she noticed visiting her
home starting in November, just as winter was setting in. With cold winds and one of the snowiest
winters in recent memory, she made sure the cat—now named Nixie—had food and some
protection from the weather. Nixie ate on the back deck and had access to a small tentlike shelter
with a cat house inside, which helped block the wind though the cold was still harsh. Found in the
heart of a small village surrounded by farmland, it’s unclear exactly where Nixie originally came
from, though a large roaming orange tom was often seen nearby. Over time, Nixie became
friendlier, and it soon became clear that she was pregnant. The night before she gave birth, the
woman brought her into a heated garage so she could deliver her kittens safely. Nixie and her
babies stayed there for their first week before coming into Pet Patrol’s care. Now safe indoors,
Nixie and her kittens have a much brighter future ahead.
Personality:
Nollie is a sweet and affectionate little guy with a motorboat purr that starts almost instantly the
moment he’s touched. He absolutely loves belly rubs and butt scratches and happily melts into
affection whenever someone gives him attention. Nollie enjoys all the typical kitten fun—wrestling
with his siblings, zooming through tunnels, and chasing toys across the room—but string toys are
by far his favourite. He’s playful, loving, and always happy to be included in whatever is going on
around him. Once he’s tired himself out, Nollie is more than content curling up for a cozy nap near
his siblings or people. Nollie is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome
him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
