Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a message from a young family living on a country property in a small town
near the sanctuary about a very friendly cat who had suddenly appeared on their property. Jasper
was easy to pick up and clearly wanted affection, but it quickly became obvious that something was
wrong with his vision. He would bump into objects, become a little disoriented, and concerned
about where things were around him. The family had never seen him before and feared he may
have been abandoned because of his disability. Once brought into Pet Patrol’s care, it was
confirmed that while Jasper does have some limited vision—being able to distinguish shapes and
light from dark—he has little to no depth perception and needs help navigating safely. Despite
everything, Jasper has remained trusting, affectionate, and incredibly loving.
Personality:
Jasper is one of the sweetest, most trusting cats you could ever meet. He absolutely adores people
and happily rubs against your legs, chirping for attention and standing up on his hind legs to lean
gently against you for cuddles. Easy to pick up and full of affection, Jasper loves being held close
and will often rub his face against yours while being carried. Though visually impaired, he never
startles when approached—instead, he leans right into gentle pets the moment he recognizes your
scent. Jasper carefully sniffs everything around him, quietly listening and taking in the world in his
own thoughtful way. At mealtime, he adorably places a paw in his bowl to make sure he’s found the
right spot. Brave, outgoing, and endlessly loving, Jasper doesn’t let his blindness stop him from
enjoying life and trusting the people around him. He is truly a special boy with the kindest soul.
Jasper is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and
keep him safely indoors.
