Rescue:
Endiva and her four kittens, Eggo, Emmental, Emmer, and Espresso, came to Pet Patrol
after a kindhearted woman reached out for help when she realized another generation of cats was
about to face life outdoors. The year before, an adult cat had appeared on her back deck
accompanied by a tiny calico kitten. Although the pair were never successfully rescued, the woman
continued to watch out for them. Then, nearly a year later, that same calico kitten returned — now
fully grown and a mother herself. Knowing she didn’t want the family to face the dangers of outdoor
life or continue the cycle of unwanted litters, she began searching for help through local rescues
and shelters. With the help of a neighbour’s humane trap, Endiva was safely caught while the
kittens were easily gathered and placed into a carrier. The family spent a comfortable night together
in the woman’s garage before one of Pet Patrol’s volunteers arrived to bring them into care. While
Endiva was understandably uncertain about all the changes at first, her kittens adjusted quickly,
and with time, she too began to relax and realize she and her babies were finally safe.
Personality:
Eggo is an affectionate little shadow who simply wants to be wherever his people are. Curious and
outgoing, he happily follows his humans from room to room to supervise whatever they’re doing,
always hoping for a few extra pets or to be scooped up for a cuddle. His tiny little meow is
impossible to resist, especially when he’s asking for attention. Eggo loves chasing his siblings and
other foster kittens around the house, but once he’s tired himself out, his favourite place to be is
curled up on a warm lap for a cozy nap. Friendly, loving, and endlessly social, Eggo would make a
wonderful companion. Eggo is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome
him into the family and keep him safely indoors.
