Rescue:

Pet Patrol was alerted to a rural property where the number of cats had quietly grown beyond what
one family could manage. After an elderly woman passed away, her daughter inherited the property
and the many cats her mother had lovingly cared for over the years. As time went on, it became
clear that keeping up with spaying and neutering had become impossible, and by the time help
arrived, there were 12 adult cats and 19 kittens living throughout the property. The cats had
managed to create cozy little shelters for themselves amongst the farm equipment, stacked
furniture, boxes, and warm straw scattered through the sheds and coop. A heat lamp in the chicken
coop helped keep many of them warm, and despite their circumstances, the cats were healthy,
friendly, and eager for attention. Volunteers were greeted by affectionate adults weaving around
their legs while tiny kittens peeked out shyly from behind abandoned fridges, stacked lawn chairs,
and hidden corners before slowly venturing out to investigate. They were safely brought into Pet
Patrol’s care, where they could begin their next chapter in loving foster homes.

Personality:

Pansy is the fearless explorer of the family and is always the first to investigate somewhere new.
While her siblings sometimes pause to decide if something is safe, Pansy is already halfway down
the hallway or checking out the next exciting adventure. She loves sprinting around the house,
chasing string toys, wrestling with her siblings, and keeping everyone on their toes with her
confidence and curiosity. After every nap she wakes up sporting the cutest permanently tousled
“bedhead” look, making her impossible not to smile at. Friendly, playful, and wonderfully adaptable,
Pansy takes life’s surprises in stride and approaches each day with enthusiasm. Pansy is ready to
be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
