Rescue:
A woman who lives in a small town about a half hour drive from the big city has brought several
cats to us over the years. She saw on the social media posting for her town about this beautiful brown tabby cat that had been wandering around a neighbourhood for at least three weeks.
The message said “ Anyone want a cat.. has been hanging out here for a few weeks. No one
has claimed him/her. Very friendly”. This was Milton. As this handsome cat came and went on
a daily basis it was easy to make sure he was fed and had fresh water, but it was unknown
where he slept at night. Pet Patrol was able to take him in if no one came forward after the
notice was posted, but then he disappeared for a bit. After several weeks of not seeing Milton
he returned, but then his rescuer’s schedule was very busy. Finally, everything aligned and this
boy showed up on the lady’s porch, he was easily put into a carrier and arrived at the sanctuary early one morning. Milton settled in immediately, a little concerned but completely friendly
and petable.
Personality:
Although Milton has not been in our care too long he has shown us that he is kind, patient,
friendly and loves people. He can be pet, given ear scratches and chin rubs. He will lean into
you for attention and although we know he can meow, it is very infrequent. He is quite polite.
Milton is discovering toys and really takes off after the catnip mice when tossed, was a little
bewildered about the illusive laser pen light, but likes his scratching post and perch on top of
the cat tree. He is a handsome cat who will make a nice addition to anyone’s home. We are
unsure how he is with dogs or little children, but he is easy going and definitely a lap cat. Milton
is ready to be adopted into his forever home. One that will welcome him into the family and
keep him safely indoors.
