Rescue:

Roxy was born in a big old barn that had massive cows and snorting pigs, but she was scared
there as it was very busy, loud and dusty. The trucks and large animals just terrified her and
she hid well away from everyone. Some of the cats on the farm were friendly and not wary of
anything new or sudden but not this little calico girl, she was not adjusting well. The cats were
fed daily and had fresh water provided too as the family considered them pets. They also
recognized that Roxy needed to live her life some where that was not so traumatic for her .
A humane trap was used to rescue this kitten because as people approached her she would
scamper away. Finally into safety a very nice lady took her into her home, attracted by Roxy’s
colours and cuteness, but she soon realized that taking in any cat, especially a barn cat, required more attention than she was able to provide. Roxy needed vet visits and medication to
help clear up her eye infection and the woman could not afford that. She gave Roxy to a
smaller cat rescue organization but eventually she was brought into Pet Patrol care

Personality:

Roxy is now a friendly and affectionate, sweet natured and fun loving kitten. She has settled
into the sanctuary with the other cats beautifully and really appreciates all the toys and playmates. It would be best for her to go to a home that has a buddy cat for her to romp around
with. Any type of toy, cat tree, kitty tunnel and catnip mouse will entertain her. She joins in or
creates games of Hide & Seek and also likes to cuddle up to another cat for company. She is
good with her care givers and appreciative of the life style she has – clean, climate controlled
and safe. She has become a nice little cat and you can’t deny she is quite pretty. Roxy is
ready to be adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep
her safely indoors
