Rescue:
Everly is the newest girl to arrive at the sanctuary and not much was known about her history.
She is very pretty and very friendly. The story told to Pet Patrol is: An elderly man, who lives on
a property near the edge of town, had noticed her outside in this winter weather. It was bitterly
cold and she was not faring well. He opened the door to the house and she gladly came right
in and straight to the food dish he had put out for her. She drank and ate a lot that day and
then slept for three day from sheer exhaustion. Where she originally came from is unknown
and she had no inclination to go back outside again. The man really enjoyed her company,
and named her Everly, but felt she needed a younger family to adopt her. He did not have any
back up plan should something happen to him, and he wanted to make sure she had a good
home. He contacted a local lady, who he knew did cat rescue and being a very small operation,
she asked if Pet Patrol could take this lovely cat in. We happily welcomed Everly into our
care and now she is ready for a new home.
Personality:
Such a wonderful, silly and affectionate cat. Everly is more than happy to roll over and look at
you upside down, wanting to be pet and receive nice ear rubs. All the while she is chirping
away, letting you know she is enjoying your company, and wanting more of your attention. She
is easy to pick up and carry, likes to be in your arms and on your lap. As a curious cat, she will
check out everything in the house, wanting to know where everything is and becoming familiar
with the household routine. Everly is very appreciative of being rescued and is ready for her
forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely indoors.
