Rescue:
Pet Patrol received a message from a woman who asked if we would take in four little kittens.
She lived adjacent to a very rundown farm where the cats have been breeding uncontrollably
for years. New owners took over the property and they started cleaning things up and all was
going well. There were many cats that this woman had spayed or neutered to make sure that
the overpopulation of cats stopped. The main reason is because the cats would migrate to her
property to give birth safely in her chicken coop. This was away from the large trucks, and
male cats plus wildlife that are on the original farm property that they came from. Our volunteer
arrived at the woman’s home to see the four kittens and there was a fifth little boy too, who
was all alone. Quickly we popped him in the room with the other four babies and he was welcomed
immediately. Orianna, Oliver, Polly and Posy are lovely little kittens and have been
socialized beautifully.
Personality:
These two lovely kittens like to run and play in the morning and evenings. Chasing springs and
balls all over the house and pouncing on unsuspecting shoe laces and dangling wand toys.
Oliver is a cuddle bunny and will rub against your legs or roll around on the floor at your feet
waiting for a pet or belly rub. Oriana will sit beside you on the couch and is getting used to be
being picked up for short periods, it has taken her a bit longer to come around, but she is
doing very well. They seek each other out for company, playtime, snuggles in the cat bed in
front of the fire place and grooming. Bird watching and squirrel patrol are favourite past times,
and provides them with entertainment and a sunny window sill. If one has left the room the
other will go searching and call out for them. Oliver and Orianna are ready to be adopted into
their forever home together. One that will welcome them into the family and keep them safely
indoors.
