Rosie

Rescue:

Here is the message left about Rosie: “Hello. I got your number from my friend. I contacted her
about a small calico cat at the trucking yard that I work out of. This cat is sleeping under the
hoods of trucks for warmth and eating out of a garbage dumpster. I have been feeding her
whenever I see her. I’m afraid she is going to get killed around all the trucks. My friend has no
room for her at this time I was wondering if you might be able to take her if I catch her. Yes,
she seems very friendly. I have a trap but I don’t think I will need it. I think I can pick her up when
I give her food.” And indeed, little Rosie was easy to pick up and place in a proper cat carrier
and was brought into Pet Patrol care. She was very dirty with a layer of dirt and oil all over her.
The white of her coat was dark grey and her feet were caked with grime. She tolerated her
shampoo and shower very well and felt so much better for it. Rosie is a lovely affectionate cat
with no information to trace her past. She is happy to be clean and in a healthy place now.

Personality:

Rosie is lovely. She is sweet, kind and gentle. Being at the sanctuary is a new experience for
her and nothing seems to faze her too much, she takes it all in stride. There are different
volunteers helping at the sanctuary every day and she greets them all with her tail up and a
little purr. Exploring her new space has been easy, she is not skittish or overly concerned
about the number of cats also residing there. Rosie loves everyone and she is easy to pick up
and cuddle. Such a nice girl. Toys were a bit of a mystery to her, but she has taken to the
little mice and the wand toy. The kitty climbers are a favourite and she likes to gaze out the
window, stretched out on the sill taking in a nice warm sunbeam. Rosie is ready to be
adopted into her forever home. One that will welcome her into the family and keep her safely
indoors.
